About the role
Tatta Bio is hiring a hands-on Lead Scientist to build a scalable high-throughput enzyme characterization platform and collaborate with machine learning scientists to discover biochemical activities in microbial genomes. The role applies deep enzymology and analytical chemistry expertise to generate datasets that improve AI-driven enzyme function predictions.
What you’ll do
Develop a high-throughput enzyme characterization platform
Collaborate with machine learning scientists to discover biochemical activities
Generate datasets that improve predictions of enzyme function
Build and scale experimental workflows independently
Troubleshoot enzyme characterization and analytical workflows
Combine AI with experimental enzyme discovery
What you’ll need
PhD in biochemistry, chemical biology, or a related field, or equivalent research experience
Hands-on experience in enzyme characterization, protein expression, and purification
Expertise in LC-MS(/MS) method development, quantitative analysis, and troubleshooting
Ability to independently build and scale experimental workflows
Experience with high-throughput screening, laboratory automation, and assay miniaturization
Experience in enzyme engineering, microbial metabolism, or natural product biosynthesis
